Electro Lifting Magnet
IPM engineered a new type of lifting magnet for scrap including pig iron, shredded steel, scrap from shear, turnings, plate cuttings, bales of steel sheets and heavy scrap from demolition. By switching from a circular scrap magnet to an IPM Mega Scrap Magnet, the process to handle scrap, either loading or unloading, can be cut to half the time. This lifting magnet has a lifting capacity that is 60-70% higher than the scrap handled by a traditional circular scrap magnet. This is a result from the double magnetic circuit, an IPM Patented design, that allows the scrap to be homogenously distributed over all the magnetic circuit.

Circular Electro Lifting Magnet

Rectangular Lifting Electromagnet
Rectangular lifting magnets are commonly used in shipyards, steel mills, and foundries to lift heavy sheets, plates, rounds or square bars, bundles, billets, ingots, and other similar items. Whereas a 1 mm gap might result in a 50% reduction in lifting capacity, the rectangular lifting magnet makes direct contact with the surface.

Suspension Electro Magnet
Suspension Magnets are meant to be installed over conveyors when tramp iron contaminants need to be removed for the protection of material processing machinery or to provide a cleaner product. Simply hang the magnet over the conveyor or the head pulley. Swing the magnet away from the conveyor and cut the power (electromagnet) to release the attracted metal when the magnet surface starts to fill up.
Electro Suspension Magnets are made out of aluminium or copper coiled coils that are either immersed in transformer oil (to prevent overheating or shorting) or air-cooled for use in harsh or dusty conditions. A control panel is included with all electro suspension magnets.
Electro Permanent Lifting Magnets
Suspension Magnets are meant to be installed over conveyors when tramp iron contaminants need to be removed for the protection of material processing machinery or to provide a cleaner product. Simply hang the magnet over the conveyor or the head pulley.
Swing the magnet away from the conveyor as the magnet surface begins to fill up, and release the attracted metal with the help of the wiper arm (permanent magnet).
Operating heights are ranging from 50 mm to 400 mm. A stripping mechanism can be added to manually cleaned magnets. There’s no electricity used, and it’s almost maintenance-free.
